At the Cebit as Dell, we can get an idea of Latitude XT3. The 13.3-inch Convertible Book is currently used with different processors of the Sandy Bridge platform, HDDs or SSDs and the Intel HD Graphics 3000, therefore.
The appearance can be described as not very graceful but it rock solid. And this impression is deceptive. Twists are completely alien to the Book and the palm rest, and side edges present themselves extremely stable. The rotation and tilt mechanism also gives a solid picture. With two handles of the notebook is a tablet and vice versa.
Gone are the days where the user had to use expensive 1.8-inch hard drives or SSDs. The former are mainly slow and SSD is a great choice, it is not even in the same format. Our XT3 is equipped with a 2.5-inch SSD from Samsung (PM810).
Perhaps most striking is the design itself. Instead of 12, there are now 13 inches in diagonal. The Latitude XT3 and Dell latitude e6400 battery has a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and is thus prepared for Windows 8 and the Snap feature. The predecessor had 1,280 x 800 pixels. The weight of the device is nearly 2.2 kg by the new construction unfortunately much higher than that of its predecessor at 1.73. The XT3 is also very thick with 33 mm. Therefore, the display can now rotate in both directions.
The rest of the equipment meets the stringent requirements of companies. A 3G modem - but without CDMA option - there are just as a dual-band wireless card from Intel. Is a connection for ExpressCards it for extensions also, as a backlight. The equipment varies greatly in part because the users themselves can choose their components.
The Dell studio 1555 battery display of the exhibition model is antireflection (Dell also offers a glare-variant). The luminosity does not reach peak values, but ranges from a completely trouble-free operation in the bright halls. The keys of the conventional keyboard have a clear pressure point for medium extension, but when it stops giving an easy flap-engine noise. In the business sector are not atypical mounted above the multi-touch pad mouse for: They have a long stroke, which prevents accidental actuation.
Furthermore, the pointing device can also be used over the functions integrated in the keyboard trackpad. An additional business features are not lacking. On board are fingerprint, Firewire (1394), docking station port, smart and ExpressCard slots.
Total returns the Dell Latitude XT3 and Dell latitude d630 battery from a very convincing performance. For the Convertible Book with Windows 7 Dell, however, requires a high price. This may vary depending on equipment ever break through the 2000 Euro mark.
